Being from SoCal, tights are a strange concept to me. I love how women from the north effortlessly layer knit dresses, sweaters, miniskirts, long peacoat and more, all with the addition of tights, and make them suitable for winter.
When it comes to tights, I want in on this trend, but I have no idea what I’m doing.
That’s why I enjoy Hipstik. This tights company was created to fit women of all shapes and sizes, without bunching or rolling or squeezing. They offer tights in opaque and sheer, and they’re low-rise – none of that crazy restrictive control top nonsense that doesn’t really hold in your stomach that well and actually just adds more bulk and seams under your blouse or dress.
But the best part is how easy they make it to find the right size for you. First, you find your body shape by using this illustration. Then, go to the chart and go up by body size and across by height. Then you have your Hipstik size! I got Size C and the tights ended up fitting me perfectly.
I wore Hipstik low-rise opaque black tights underneath a purple swing shift dress for Thanksgiving. I added a black faux fur vest on top, and black suede ankle booties on bottom. Even though it was in the 70s, I felt ready for a good old-fashioned cold Thanksgiving family dinner!
What do you wear with tights? Let me know in the comments!
