It’s always sunny in…LA and sunglasses are the #1 accessory you cannot forget when heading out the door. After all, how will you be able to see when you’re driving, people-watch without them knowing you’re looking or avoid getting unsightly wrinkles around your eyes?
I am never without a pair of sunglasses, but I hate how sunglasses look on me. Square frames look terrible, aviators are often too big for my face or make me look like a bug, god forbid I try on a pair of cat-eye shades and frat glasses look good on me but I’m a liiittttttlle out of that demographic by now.
When I discovered Warby Parker’s Home Try-On service, I was stoked. Now I could finally do some experimentation with the shape and style that works for me!

The Home Try-On service is so easy. Simply head over to Warby Parker’s website, select sunglasses (or prescription glasses, if you’re shopping for eyewear), and then filter by”Home Try-On”. Then you’ll see all the sunglasses available to be shipped to you! Select five of your favorites, put in your info and address, and voila! They are shipped straight to your door.
The idea is that you get to take these trial shades (minus the actual high-tech Warby Parker sunglass lenses) for a spin to see what you think before you choose a pair to purchase. With prices starting at $95 and averaging around $150, Warby Parker understands this is an important purchase you need to feel comfortable with.
Because I’m still experimenting with the best shape for my face, I opted for 5 extremely different styles: The Batten Jet Silver aviators; the Haskell Crystal (love the round shape);”the Laurel Oak Barrel with a slight cat-eye curve and funky brown patterned frames; the Ingram Jet Black, a classic sturdy shape; and the Crossfield Polished Gold aviators, similar to the styles I usually buy.
Here are the results of my selfie-heavy photo shoot to see not only what looks good in the mirror, but what photographs well.
Which pair is your fave? Which should I buy, and which should I send back to Warby Parker in a hurry? Let me know in the comments!
Oh, and if you decided to try out the Warby Parker Home Try-On system for yourself, take social media photos and hashtag them with #WarbyHomeTryOn, and representatives from the brand will weigh in with their expert opinions too!
