L’Oreal has always been known for innovative makeup, and their new Infallible line is no exception! This new product line is designed to help you create a professional look that lasts for a long time.
I’m really basic with my makeup routine. Give me a BB cream, matte foundation, mascara and something beige to put on my eyes and I’m good to go! If I’m feeling crazy, I’ll add eyeliner, shimmer or some dark circle concealer under my eyes. But I’m not sure how to contour or how to use these crazy blending brushes that look like butt plugs.
I decided to branch out of my comfort zone and try out the new L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation, Total Cover Color Correcting Kit and Total Cover Concealing and Contour Kit!
First up, foundation. I’m super picky about foundation and usually only use Mary Kay matte foundation. However, I really enjoyed the L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover foundation! I tried out Sand Beige, which was perfect for my summer tanned skin. Buff Beige and Natural Beige might be better winter looks. The foundation has good coverage and is matte. It didn’t feel too heavy. I enjoy using it!
Now to get crazy. I wiped off all my makeup and decided to use the fun pastel colors in the Color Correcting Kit.

I had scrubbed my face with a makeup wipe and just touched up my eyebrows, so my face was redder than usual. I thought this was a great opportunity to try out the green formula, which is designed to neutralize redness.

I followed the diagram on the back of the kit and applied the colors to the appropriate sections of my face – peach underneath my eyes to disguise dark circles, purple on my cheeks to brighten dullness and yellow to combat discoloration.

I then used the blending sponge to blend the colors together. The result was a natural, fresh-faced look!
However, I think that the only real part I needed was the green to neutralize redness, and that is easily corrected in a green-toned CC cream. However, if you have redness AND discoloration, dullness and dark circles, this all-in-one kit may be for you.
Next up, Contouring. I have no cheekbones to speak of, and it drives me crazy to see all these ladies with high, well-defined cheekbones and know that they likely fake it with makeup. I wish I had these skills! I tried out the Total Cover Contouring Kit to see if I could fake it until I made it.
I followed the diagram on the back of the kit to apply the various shades to the appropriate sections of my face, then blended with the sponge.

You can see that I definitely have better-defined shape in my face. But the change isn’t drastic, and whatever change I do see makes me feel like my face is oddly misshapen. Maybe because I’m used to seeing my face as it is? I’m not sure, so I will be trying to refine my skills.
