Best of Beauty: Maybelline 24K Nudes

We’ve all seen hundreds of memes showing pics of nude-colored makeup being sent in response to douchey guys asking women to”send nudes“. The joke is seriously played out. So I’ll refrain from making any similar cracks here.

Nude eyeshadow shades are so popular because they are flattering. But “nude” is inherently a super-racist term – when we say nude, we usually mean “beige“. But millions of women around the world don’t have beige skin – they have brown, caramel, dark, olive, chocolate, whatever skin, and that’s the shade that “nude” is to them.

What’s the solution to making everyone happy? Having all the different shades of nude in one palette!

The new Maybelline New York “The 24K Nudes” eyeshadow palette includes 12 gorgeous shades for custom eye makeup looks. From the typical beige “nude” to sparkly olive to warm chocolate brown, there’s something for everyone’s skin tones.

The palette also includes dark shimmery silver, rich plum and sparkly white shades, among others like a bold gold, to help you mix up your look and add some pizazz.

I also tried out the new Maybelline “The Falsies Push Up Angel” waterproof mascara. I use THE mascara every day. Yes, “the” mascara is the classic Maybelline New York Great Lash mascara (I use the Big Lashes formula in Blackest Black). The iconic pink and green bottle has never been beat by any other mascara?

Except this one. I hate to admit it, but I am now an official convert to The Falsies mascara. Maybelline definitely cannibalized its own brand here with this stunning arched wand. The brush allows you to make super-long eyelashes at the edges of your eye, for that sultry “fake lashes” look, all in a few seconds. I was blown away by how easy it was to completely transform my lashes.

Have you tried the new 24K Nudes palette or The Falsies mascara? Let me know in the comments!

Disclosure: I received these products complimentary for review from Influenster. All opinions are my own.
