I’m getting tired of the same-old chain stores, with pieces of increasing price and decreasing quality (I won’t name names here). So I’m always on the lookout for new boutiques that offer cute, well-fitting clothes at reasonable prices.
Stay Fierce Boutique is my new online shopping obsession! The physical store is located in North Carolina, a state I’ve never visited. However, the boutique offers $6 flat-rate shipping on all US-based orders, so distance is definitely no factor here. You can find tops, dresses, rompers, jumpsuits and accessories online, and you can also shop plus size.
I also love Stay Fierce because they feature real women on their Instagram. Wear their clothes and you might end up there! Sure, there are models, but the models are so relatable that you can actually visualize yourself in the clothes.
I chose this blue and gold flowy chain dress to try out. The order arrived quickly and I was so excited to give it a try!
I love the fit of this dress. The oversize fit is counteracted by a fitted waist and a button closure behind the neck. So the style is comfy and oversize but you don’t look or feel like you’re swimming in fabric. I also love how the dress includes material under the arms – although the arm holes are huge, you aren’t flashing anyone boobs or your bra. This is a CLASSY oversize dress, not a poor-fitting dress, after all.
The blue color brings out my eyes and I think it goes so well with the gold chain trim around the dress. However, this dress definitely has a problem. Chains NEVER go well with fabric. They always come unsewn or rip apart. Upon receiving this dress, I spent several HOURS hand-sewing each individual chain link back to the dress with similar-colored thread. It’s not the best job, but it was unwearable before, with chains hanging off. Even so, when I wear the dress I’ll sometimes hear a rip and a piece of chain is hanging off. So if you want to wear any outfit with chains on it, be prepared that it will be a high-maintenance purchase and require a lot of sewing.
Besides the tailoring I needed to do, this dress is so perfect for summer. It’s great for beach, shopping or brunch. It’s also work-appropriate and the bright color helps you stand out in a crowd – say, at a work networking mixer.
I paired it with these nude suede wedges from Payless and this gold and beige rope bracelet from Ettika, to keep the focus on the bold dress. After all, the gold chain trim is already basically an accessory!
What do you think of this dress and the other items on Stay Fierce Boutique’s site? I am going to order this orange tunic dress and I can’t wait to share it with y’all!
