Finding healthy snacks can be so hard. I know that when I’m on the edge of hanger, I look for whatever is delicious, will take the edge off my hunger and will not fill me up too much where I can’t eat dinner. Unfortunately, that usually means potato chips or candy, empty calories and fat I simply don’t need.
Bare Snacks is a new snack company that’s committed to making better-for-you snack options. Their motto is simplicity – they use the fewest number of ingredients to maintain flavor and nutrients.
In fact, Bare Snacks are:
- Trans fat-free
- Nut-free (except coconuts)
(They’re also a carbon neutral company!).
I’ve tried the cinnamon apple chips and Granny Smith apple chips before. They were really good, but nothing that many other brands don’t also make.
Then along came the new chia coconut bites. HERE was something that hadn’t been done, and these snacks include chia seeds, my absolute obsession. I think chia seeds make everything more delicious, even coconut, which I’m usually not a big fan of.
The new flavors are Chia + Pineapple Chia Coconut, Chia + Flax Chia Coconut and Chia + Vanilla Chia Coconut.
My favorite is the Pineapple Chia Coconut bites, because pineapple is my favorite fruit. The bites taste like a sugary cereal from the 90s that I can’t quite put my finger on, but I know that I liked to eat it before school, and I know that it definitely isn’t around anymore because now we know that sugary cereals are a TERRIBLE way to start the day.
