My boyfriend and I always complain about buying fresh fruit at the grocery store. You pick out the perfect package of fruit, pay way too much for it and get it home. Within a few days not only is the fruit spoiled, but it’s growing fuzzy white mold and stinking up your fridge. Seriously, if you don’t eat those strawberries the same day that you bought them, you’re screwed.
That says a lot about the decreasing quality of produce at grocery stores, but I digress. The point is that eating enough fresh fruit each day is really difficult.
That’s it. is a new company dedicated to letting everyone carry around their fruit every day in bar form. Each That’s it bar contains two entire fruits? and that’s it. Literally. There are no other ingredients.
You can eat an apple and a mango; an apple and apricots; and apple and cherries; an apple and a banana; an apple and blueberries; an apple and a coconut; an apple and a pear; an apple and a pineapple or an apple and strawberries, all in one sitting and for just 100 calories.
I’m absolutely obsessed with these bars. As a vegetarian with fruit, vegetable and nut allergies, it’s hard for me to eat enough fresh produce, or really any fresh produce at all. By sticking to bars with fruit I know I’m not allergic to (apples, mangoes, blueberries, cherries and pineapple) and avoiding fruits I am allergic to (bananas, coconuts), I can finally get enough fruit in my diet. That’s it. Bars have no other allergens -no nuts, milk, eggs, wheat or soy (although they’re manufactured in a plant that processes these things, so be careful if you’re severely allergic to those things). And they’re GMO-free and preservative-free, perfect for kosher, vegan and gluten-free diets.
Even better, the Apple + Mango and Apple + Blueberry varieties are available at Starbucks, so no more excuses getting that lemon loaf cake over a nutritious snack with your coffee!
I can’t rave enough about how these have changed my life.
If you have trouble eating vegetables too, you can try the Veggie line (beans and carrots; beans and corn; beans and kale and beans and peas). I haven’t tried those yet but I intend to!
