I have never owned a pair of sneakers in my life. Anyone who knows me would not be surprised by this fact. I am such a sandals and heels kind of girl. From pretty summer sandals to ballet flats to fun heels to sturdy wedges to boots of every size, shape and color, I’m hooked on shoes! But sneakers have never been a part of my collection.

Recently, I’ve been seeing a ton of fashion bloggers rock the Adidas Superstar sneaks. Not just a few bloggers, like, every blogger from 1k Insta followers to the street style stars we follow just like celebrities, such as Chiara Ferragni and Cara Delevingne. So I’ve been thinking about giving them a try for a while.

What I like about the Adidas Superstar shoes is that they are really street-style, not athletic. I look TERRIBLE in athletic shoes, which is why I’m hesitant to take photos below the waist on hikes. And visible socks? Gag me with a spoon.

The Superstar shoes are low-cut enough to barely show socks. I’m going to be on the lookout for even lower-cut socks though, just in case.

Originally, I went to the Adidas store on the Third Street Promenade to buy the shell-toe shoes in all white. I wanted them to go with everything and be super demure. But after seeing a girl try on the white with black stripes version, I decided to give those a whirl.

I ended up falling in love with the old-school hip-hop style of these black and white Superstars. I love the black stripes, the super-blatant black and gold Adidas logos on the tongues of the shoes and the black backs. I’m not usually all about the branding and the logos, but I think Adidas managed to brand these shoes in a super fun and tasteful way.

It turns out that even with the black stripes, the shoes still go with everything! Here I am with a navy tank from H&M and a white skirt from Forever 21:

I paired them with slinky black high-waisted wide-legged shorts from Fashion Rush, perfect for a night out on the town:

They’re even great for working out, although why anyone would exercise when there is pizza and beer is beyond me.

I’m stoked on my new shoes and can’t wait to find new ways to wear them!
