Each season or holiday, I love to cut out construction paper shapes and put them around the house! Last month I made googly eye bats for Halloween and spread them out around the apartment. Last year for Christmas I made red and green paper snowflakes and covered one wall – it then served as a step-and-repeat for my and Ramsay’s Ugly Sweater holiday party.
For fall/November, I thought autumn leaves would be fun (I mean, where else was I going to see fall leaves in LA if I didn’t make them myself?).
I printed out two leaf templates that I found on Google, resizing them to”fit what I was looking for. I used one large maple leaf and smaller curved leaves. Then I traced the templates onto red, orange, yellow and brown construction paper, cut them out and taped them up. Voila!
I opted to cover this one random accent wall in our apartment that is currently empty and looks a little strange. I think that it really pulls the living room together, looks festive and isn’t over-crowded.
It’s easy and not too time-consuming to make them yourself at home! You can cover a wall, a sliding glass door, a window, or scatter them around. It’s up to you!
