I got this idea from browsing through the “Holiday” section of Pinterest – a site I ONLY go on when looking for craft ideas, otherwise I will come out of my clicking stupor 3 weeks later, 10 pounds lighter and fired from work.
These googly eye bats are so easy and fun to make – not to mention incredibly cheap. The only supplies you need are black construction paper, which you likely already have lying around, because who uses black construction paper; scissors, googly eyes and basic Elmer’s glue.

First, Google a good bat template, or draw one yourself. Cut it out and trace it onto black construction paper.

Cut out the bats all at once – it’s easier to do this like an assembly line than one-by-one.
Lay out the bats and put two drops of glue on each bat face for eyes. Stick googly eyes on the bats.
Lay the bats flat to dry before putting them up. I let my bats sit overnight to make sure the eyes didn’t slide or fall off my walls (creepy).

Then, put them up! You can scatter them all around the house like I did, or make a step-and-repeat for a party. You can give them out to trick-or-treaters or schoolchildren, or to guests as party favors. The possibilities are endless!
