I’m a Rocksbox It Girl!!

I’m so excited to announce that I have partnered with Rocksbox to become a Rocksbox It Girl!

In case you haven’t heard of Rocksbox yet (aka it’s not all over your Instagram), Rocksbox is a jewelry borrowing company. Essentially, you get the opportunity to “try before you buy!”

Here’s how it works. You sign up on Rocksbox.com and fill out a “style profile”. Basically you let the stylists at Rocksbox know what you like and don’t like. Do you not have your ears pierced? Do you only like gold jewelry? Let them know.

You can also go through their jewelry selections on the site and add the pieces you love to your “wishlist”. Your stylist will actually go through your wishlist, as well as your style profile, to pick out pieces for you! This is not an algorithm, this is an actual person. Too cool.

The neatest (and most high-tech) way to select your jewelry is to go on Rocksbox’s Instagram and write #wishlist on pictures of jewelry you like. If your Instagram is linked to your Rocksbox account, they will see this and add it to your wishlist! No kidding. I love this feature.

Next, Rocksbox ships a box of 3 pieces of fine jewelry to you from well-known designers like Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960, Gorjana, Kendra Scott, CC Skye, Wanderlust + Co and more! Each piece has been personally selected for you by your stylist based on your preferences.

Personally, I’m a huge Nicole Richie fan so I basically “liked” all of the House of Harlow 1960 pieces, just so I could try them out.

You try out all three pieces for as long as you want. If you don’t like a piece, simply send it back to Rocksbox in its pre-paid envelope and you’re done! If you do like a piece, you can buy it. Each month you get $10 in Shine Spend toward your purchase! And best of all, you have the piece already so you don’t have to wait for it to ship. However, you aren’t obligated to buy any of the pieces.

When you ship back your pieces to Rocksbox, you get ANOTHER box of 3 pieces of jewelry sent to you and the cycle continues! The best part of Rocksbox is that you get unlimited jewelry boxes for the flat monthly fee, and shipping is always included. So if you get bored easily like me, you can send back your pieces quicker and get new pieces quicker.

There are many ways to use Rocksbox. I intend to use it as an experimentation tool, to mix up my wardrobes and for my fashion blog (that you are currently reading). I’m also open to buying a piece I fall in love with! You could also use it as a ?try before you buy? system. These pieces of jewelry are all a bit pricey – they are from mid-range designers and very detailed. It’s not a hasty Forever 21 $5 necklace purchase – you want to make sure you really like a piece before you invest in it. And Rocksbox is the perfect way to do this. Another use of Rocksbox is for gifts! When you wear a piece out and a friend, family member or coworker fawns over it, well voila. You can purchase it and give it as a gift (perfect right now, as Mother’s Day is just around the corner!).2015-04-29 00.22.12

I received my first Rocksbox on Monday and I’ve been freaking out ever since. My stylist, Hailey, chose 3 great pieces for me.

First up is this gold and turquoise bracelet from my favorite, House of Harlow 1960. The real turquoise has slight imperfections, making it look fancy yet casual at the same time. I don’t often wear bracelets, so I’m excited to branch out and take this for a spin.

I also received this tiny, delicate “Pave V” necklace from Sophie Harper. The dainty chain ends in a sparkly “V” and is both understated and beautiful.

Last but not least, I was sent the Isla ring and midi ring set from Gorjana. I LOVE midi rings, but I bought cheap ones from Forever 21 and they rusted away :( I’m excited to have a chance to wear ones that won’t tarnish and fall apart! I love the fun design of these rings, and how they emulate nature. I’ll be taking these out on the town a lot, I think.

Hey that’s me!!

I’m not only excited about the jewelry itself, but about the packaging. The Rocksbox box is beautiful, and tied with a bow. Inside is a personalized note for me from my stylist on why she chose each piece from me, along with details and pricing information for each piece. Opening the ribbon and tissue paper package is like Christmas, or a birthday. I felt so special, and the best part is knowing I can feel this way multiple times a month if I so choose!
