In My Kitchen: La Victoria Mild Salsa Tasting

There’s nothing like fresh tortilla chips and a delicious salsa for a midday snack. I had the opportunity to try LA VICTORIA‘s entire line of new mild salsas. One sunny weekend day after playing in the pool, my husband and I set up our own little salsa tasting to give them a try!

Britt’s rating: 6 – I like the tomato chunks. Decent flavor but could be more flavorful.
Sean’s rating: 6 – This is a good salsa.

LA VICTORIA Roasted Pepper Mild
Description:LA VICTORIA Roasted Red Pepper Mild features five classic chile peppers – poblano, chipotle, ancho, jalape’o and Serrano – roasted to perfection”.
Britt’s rating: 10 – My tongue is on fire. It’s too spicy for me but I love the roasted profile so much.
Sean’s rating: 9 – A little watery – would be better with the same flavors, but chunky.

LA VICTORIA Thick n Chunky Salsa Verde Mild
Description: “LA VICTORIA Thick n Chunky Salsa Verde Mild features the mild and refreshing flavors of tomatillos, and garlic along with the heat of jalape’o peppers all come together to make something truly authentic”.
Britt’s rating: 7 – I love tomatillos! However, I think the jalape’o flavor overshadows the tomatillos too much.
Sean’s rating: 5 – It’s too vinegary. Reminds me of a dill pickle.

Our overall rating:
The winner: LA VICTORIA Roasted Pepper Mild was our favorite by far! The five-chile flavor profile was bold, unique and delicious.
