We’ve all had those days where we wake up and just nothing we do makes our hair look decent. Blow-drying, straightening, curling, mousse, waves. Like the kind of bad hair day only starting over with a shower will help. And since we don’t all have hours in the morning to get ready before work, this kind of scenario can be a Bad Hair Day Disaster.
When this happens, I have my secret handy-dandy weapon that makes me look instantly put-together, and like I totally meant to style my hair this way – hair bows!
I like the big satin bows that are oversize and come on large barrettes, none of those little bows that you can get at Forever 21. I don’t understand what you are supposed to do with the little bows or where exactly you are supposed to stick them, besides in Barbie dolls’ hair.
I do love my giant black satin bow from Forever 21, though – I also have it in neon pink. All I have to do is treat my hair with dry shampoo to get some volume and get rid of grease (I like Sauve because it does the same exact thing as more expensive brands, but smells really good and not chemically). Then I pull my hair up into a high ponytail, making sure to keep volume at the top. I secure it with any hairband I want – it will be covered up by the barrette. Then I just snap in the bow at the back! And voila! Instant cute, put-together and matching my outfit. And no one has to know that it all started because I woke up looking like crap.
