It’s true that every trend comes back around. One trend that came back around and never really went back away is the 80s trend. Sure, some seasons you see more shoulder pads and neon on the runway than others. But it’s undeniable that the fashion influence of the 1980s is present every day in modern fashion.

I decided to channel an 80s look that not only works for a theme party, but for everyday life. I started with plain sleek black – a black long-sleeved shirt from H&M and black yoga pants from Forever 21.

The 80s were super edgy, and people loved rock’n’roll and moro-inspired pieces. That’s why I chose these moto ankle booties from Payless Shoesource. Love the harsh lines, the wedge heel and the side buckles!

It wouldn’t be the 80s if you didn’t mix in denim of some sort. This light denim jacket from Charlotte Russe is perfect for the 80s AND for 2017.

The 80s were full of bright, neon, crazy jewelry. But because it’s actually 2017, I kept my accessories simple. This gold “B” monogram necklace and gold “Sleep all day, dance all night” bangle are both from Ettika.
