Sometimes the best color combinations are the ones found in nature. Why do we like them so much? Is it because we see them all the time on Earth, so we get used to them? Because they remind us of the gorgeous scenery on our planet? Some kind of subconscious archetype?

Who knows why green and brown are such a great color combo, but they are!

This green pencil skirt is from Fashion Q, a boutique I love in Rancho Cucamonga. I’m not a huge green person, but this shade is so pretty. It’s not forest green, or emerald green, or olive green, it’s a mixture of all three and maybe something else thrown in. I just love that it’s unexpected.

I paired it with this white long-sleeved lace top, also from Fashion Q. I bought this shirt in every color it came in (white, gray, maroon, black, navy blue) because it is so incredibly flattering. The lace also adds some pizazz to an otherwise plain outfit.

My brown suede ankle booties are from Payless Shoesource.

In keeping with the “nature” theme, I accessorized with a gold leaf necklace from Forever 21.
