I love country details, like plaid, boots and lace, but I am in no way a country girl! I always feel like I’m playing dress-up when I do the whole shebang.

That’s why I love country-inspired clothing items that have an LA/city twist. Like this pink plaid button-down shirt, that ties in the front and is a crop top. Or these awesome brown suede ankle booties, which are stilettos. Items like these make me feel like I’m being myself!

I wore this outfit to a screening of the 1920s silent German film Metropolis at the Silent Movie Theatre in Fairfax. The pink plaid button-down is from Fashion Rush Clothing. I love the proportions: long sleeves, button-down front, tie in the front, cropped higher in the back. The jeans are from Forever 21, and the stiletto ankle booties are also from Fashion Rush (necklace is from my mom).

I loved this outfit and felt sooo comfortable in it! Best of all, the pink made me feel super happy and girly.
