When I found these dusty brown / taupe pointed-toe booties from Christian Siriano for Payless, I knew that they wouldn’t be easy to style. They’re not brown, or gray, or chestnut, or black. They’re an interesting shade, which requires some outfit creativity.

The best way I can describe this color is”dusty“. It’s soft and muted, and the suede texture contributes to this effect. I imagined a westerner walking through the streets of gold country, or a wanderer in the desert, or a super-stylish cowgirl. The boho / desert vibe inspired me to style this outfit.

I love these pink pants (a hand-me-down) from my friend. The color is not pink, not salmon, not orange, but some kind of  “off” shade. Just like the boots! They pair perfectly together.

I added this beige oversize sweater from Forever 21. I love how the sweater texture goes with the suede, dusty boots. I also love how having a plain top and solid bottoms puts the focus on the booties, which have a pointed toe and fun western buckles on the sides and really deserve to be noticed!

This pink and gold feather necklace from Charlotte Russe ties the whole look together. I decided to add even more pizazz with an Ettika gold bangle.
