OOTD: Flowy Skirts Work For All Seasons

I love this rust-colored high-low skirt from Fashion Rush Clothing. I literally wear it every season of the year (as much as you can say we have seasons here in LA).

In this photo, it’s a chilly spring day in Santa Monica. I’ve paired the skirt with a basic black t-shirt from Forever 21, a black skinny belt, gold gladiator sandals from Target and a gold/jewel chain necklace, also from Target. The flowy skirt keeps me warm, while the t-shirt says”spring”. I also love how the combination of black and rust doesn’t say “hey it’s summer” just yet, but the proportions do.

In summer, I pair the skirt with a plain white tank top from H&M to lighten up the color palette. The good (and surprising) thing about rust is that it goes with many different colors.

For summer, I also love pairing the skirt with crop tops. Here is a dark-colored tribal print crop top from Fashion Rush that I actually bought at the same time with the skirt. The top ends just above the skirt, showing only a minimal amount of skin. But it’s still playful and fun.

When I want to have fun with proportions, I wear this layered black crop top from Fashion Rush on top. When wearing a layered flowy skirt, it’s important to be careful not to wear too overwhelming or loose of a top. But I think that this crop top is the perfect size and cut to be fun, not frumpy.

In winter, I wear a black long-sleeved shirt or sweater tucked into the skirt. Again, the color palette is really versatile, so it’s all about layers at this point!
What would you wear this skirt with? Do you have an item in your closet as versatile as this one? Let me know in the comments!
