I follow so many amazing and beautiful fashion bloggers on Instagram. I’m always so inspired by their #OOTD and #OOTN. Something I see these ladies do a lot is mix prints. Leopard with floral, stripes with polka dots. I’m always too afraid to mix prints, for fear of looking like a clown or like someone who can’t dress themselves. But these ladies pull it off on the reg, so I figured, why can’t I?
This isn’t an incredibly bold mixed-prints outfit, but it’s a step in the right direction! I felt brave and colorful walking down the street in it.

I started with this mustard yellow pencil skirt from H&M. Normally I wear this skirt with a plain white t-shirt or crop top and neutral shoes (like nude wedges or MAYBE brown wedges if I’m feeling crazy). Today, I opted to shake it up a bit with a black and white striped t-shirt from H&M instead.

For some reason, I really feel like this works together! I wasn’t about to go too crazy with the shoes, so I chose these black wedges from Payless to coordinate with the black stripes in the shirt.

I kept jewelry simple with my silver Tiffany’s ring and a silver ring from Wanderlust + Co. I know I could have gone even funkier with chunky layered necklaces, but I was too afraid.

On my 2017 resolution list: try it anyway! It’s time to take more risks with fashion. Who’s with me??
