Although I love wintery neutrals like gray and black, they can’t be all I wear for months on end! I love my summer and spring wardrobe, and although most of the items are not appropriate for wintertime, I recently decided to get creative with a few items.

One of these said items is this pink floral scarf from Fashion Rush Clothing. The scarf is a summer scarf, aka of thin, gauzy material. Also, pink and florals are generally reserved for the summertime. However, since it’s a scarf, and since the florals are big and the pink dusty, I thought I’d see how it transitioned to winter.

I combined the scarf with this maroon long-sleeved dress from Forever 21. I just can’t get enough of maroon this season. I know that it’s super trendy, but I hope that it sticks around for a while – it’s such a rich, beautiful, flattering color. And this dress is so soft. It has two layers of fabric so it’s actually relatively warm.

Last but not least, I played up the warm shade of the maroon dress with these chocolatey brown ankle booties from Payless Shoesource. The dark brown pairs perfectly with the dress and scarf, and is perfect for winter.

I felt super pretty and girly, and pleased that I was able to transition this scarf! I was able to keep warm without overheating. #SoCalWeatherWin!
