OOTD: No Frills

Being girly doesn’t always mean wearing frills and pleats. But sometimes it does!

I fell in love with this white pleated midi skirt the second I saw it at Charlotte Russe. I’m a sucker for high-waisted skirts. And although I’m not usually a fan of longer skirts, I love the shape this skirt has. It has so much heft that it stands straight out from my body and makes me feel like I’m wearing a petticoat from the Little House on the Prairie days.

To really work the girly vibe, I paired this pleated skirt with a baby pink t-shirt from Forever 21.

I love these brown flatforms from Payless. They’re so comfortable and go with everything. I love the 70s revival here. And they add some spunk to an otherwise very prissy” outfit.

I kept jewelry simple. This gold giraffe necklace is from J. Crew, and my gold left-hand ring is from Forever 21.

The only problem with this outfit is that this skirt is SO hard to wash. It needs to be hand-washed, but it’s so big it barely fits in my sink. Then, it’s really hard to shape back into the stand-out pleats. The material is so thick it’s hard to work with. It’s so cute, it’s super worth the extra hassle. Sometimes fashion involves being a little high-maintenance!
