It can be tempting to stick to the same-old color scheme – black at night, jewel tones for fall, pastels for spring, etc. But once in a while you’ve got to break out of the ordinary and go big!
I really like wearing orange because it’s rare and unexpected. Orange is not a color you often find in clothing stores, and I’m not really sure why. After all, it’s such a bright and happy color. You can wear orange in the summer to evoke the great sunny season. You can wear orange on a gray day to contrast with the gloomy weather around you.
And if you’re tan like me, orange brings out the yellow in your skin and makes you look even tanner than you are – win!
My boss was kind enough to give me this orange dress from H&M when she was cleaning out her closet. Clearly she knows my style well!
The dress is bright enough, so I added nude canvas wedges from Target Style to compliment the bold print.
Next, for accessories. Gold compliments warm colors well. This giraffe necklace is from Forever 21, and my cuff ring is from Gorjana – thanks Rocksbox for helping me discover this amazing jewelry brand!
