OOTD: Orange Sunshine

Summer is here, and although the May Gray is not really letting us enjoy it here in Santa Monica, I’m ready to break away from the dark, neutral color palette and bring some brights into my wardrobe.

This orange halter top from Forever 21 is one quick and easy way to dress like the sunshine we are so ready for! This top is inspiring some debate in my office on whether it is orange or red. My post is based on the assumption that it is orange – what color do you think it is?

I don’t usually wear halter tops due to the bra factor (I don’t feel my best in a shapeless saggy strapless bra), but I fell in love with the high neck cut. I love the high-neck trend. It is so classy and elegant, and is flattering on long necks like mine.

I also adore the front pleats. This top is full of fun and funky, which is just the way I like my clothes.

To keep the focus on the bold halter top, I kept the rest of the outfit ‘summer neutral”. This crisp white pencil skirt is from H&M. I purchased it in the professional section, but honestly this skirt is so tight and sheer I usually wear it out on the town or to brunch, not to work.

These brown and rope wedges are from Payless Shoesource. This outfit would also work with nude wedges, but I like the way the warm brown compliments the warm orange.

Last but not least, I added this beige and cream rope and tassel bracelet from Ettika. This design is called the °Celebuante bracelet, and it comes in like 50 different color combinations. Although I want them all, I purchased this gold chain version with a cream rope and row of faux diamonds. The neutral shades means it goes with everything, so I can wear it with more outfits.

Is my top orange or red? Am I color blind or right on point? Vote in the comments.
