OOTD: Pink and Nude

Baby pink is such an isolating color – you either love it or you hate it. For many it’s very “little girly”. Or it reminds them of ballerinas. Others love the color and how it really pops against crisp white or dark gray.

I decided to take this VERY ballerina-esque baby pink wrap crop top from Charlotte Russe and style it to be very grown-up.

Step one was to opt out of ballerina black and gray, and super-girly / springtime white. Instead, I opted for this nude ribbed pencil skirt, also from Charlotte Russe. I thought the combination of baby pink with a dark neutral nude would be unexpected and fun!

I love the proportions here. The wrap cut of the crop top reveals a LOT of cleavage. But the high waist and long length of the pencil skirt helps balance it out.

I kept shoes simple and trendy (and super comfortable) with brown flatforms from Payless Shoesource.

I upped the “girly” factor with this gold and pearl necklace from Forever 21, as well as a gold criss-cross ring from Forever 21.
