Early in the summer, I bought this floor-length hot pink sheer maxi skirt from H&M and ended up wearing it everywhere with everything. The color was awesome, the high-waisted skirt allowed for crop top wear, the short solid miniskirt underneath meant my legs didn’t suffocate and the sheer overlay makes it look like a classy maxi skirt. I decided to buy it in black and navy too!
The navy skirt is a really dark shade of blue. Sometimes it can be difficult to tell in the lighting if it is black or blue! So to play up the blue shade, I decided to pair it with a DEFINITELY blue top.
This super-soft baby blue v-neck shirt is part of H&M’s Basics collection, meaning you can get 2 tops for just $10. Score. I love that the baby blue brings out the navy in the skirt and the blue in my eyes. And because the shades of blue are so different (and because the navy blue is ambiguously black), it doesn’t clash to wear so much blue.
I added these white and black Christian Siriano gladiator sandals from Payless Shoesource to add some “color” without really adding color. Finally, I topped the outfit off with a blue and silver owl necklace from Forever 21″.
