The worst part (or maybe the only bad part, really) about not being in school is not getting a Spring Break. When the weather is just starting to heat up and summer seems so close you can almost taste it, the vacation vibes totally set in.
Which is not ideal if you’re working year round – you can’t just mentally check out because college students are on spring break.
But what you can do is make friends with teachers who DO get spring break, and then rearrange your work schedule so you can take an afternoon to celebrate with them.
Some girlfriends and I rented an electric Duffy boat down in Newport Harbor for a fun, unique activity.
Boating in Newport is different than boating in Canyon Lake or Lake Havasu – namely, that clothes are still kind of necessary.
Thus, (and because the weather was NOT yet summer-like) I opted out of a bikini and instead wore this pretty tropical print red maxi dress. I can’t get enough of the fun pattern! Plus, the cut is so figure flattering. From short sleeves to an off-the-shoulder neckline and a high/low side slit, this dress is a real winner.
Nude wedges, a dainty gold necklace and a gold cuff rounded out my outfit. Now, if only my “Spring Break” adventure could have lasted all week!
