OOTD: Spring Break

Sadly, in the real world, there is no more such thing as “Spring Break“. You don’t get a week off to go party in Mexico?

…so you have to use your vacation days to take time off to party in Mexico instead ;)

This year, I celebrated Spring Break the college way, like I never did when I was actually in college, by heading on a Carnival cruise to Ensenada, Mexico.

The occasion was technically my friend Cindy’s birthday, but her birthday coincides during traditional Spring Break times.

I had never been on a cruise, or to Mexico, or out of the country at all! So after securing a passport, we were off!

Spring Break fashion is all about crop tops, bikinis, sandals, showing skin, being colorful and having fun. And Mexico is also known for bright, vibrant colors and fun patterns and prints. So this outfit was perfect for both occasions!

This pink and purple patterned crop top is from Forever 21. It’s off-the-shoulder, so I usually can’t wear it (stupid bra straps). But over a Victoria’s Secret halter bikini, it’s perfect!

This hot pink pencil skirt is from H&M’s Basics collection. Two pieces for $10 – you can’t go wrong! So basically you can wear it to Papas & Beer Ensenada and not worry about getting tequila and beer spilled on it – because it was only $5.

My gold Sperries are tried and true – they have seen a lot and are a little dusty! So they were perfect to take out on the boat, on the streets and sidewalks and in a dirty tourist bar. When I’m not going to these places, these pretty gold braided sandals from Forever 21 work just fine.

The warm colors of the crop top call for gold jewelry. This giraffe necklace is from J.Crew.
