My friends know my absolute favorite things in life are sweaters (and burritos). There’s just nothing like a super-soft sweater enveloping you in a hug, keeping you warm but not TOO warm.

I love this thin burgundy sweater. It has the cutest tie-knot detail in the front, which is extremely figure-flattering. I wish I could get this sweater in every single color!

Longer sweaters are also ideal for pairing with black leggings. You’ll assuage the “leggings aren’t pants” haters when your sweater covers your butt, like this one does. And you can roam around freely in supreme stretchy comfort without worrying about panty lines.

To jazz up this otherwise casual outfit, I added my brand-new black knee-high boots. I’ve never been a fan of knee-high boots, preferring ankle booties instead. But since purchasing this adorable and comfortable pair from Sam Edelman, I’m now the proud of owner of knee-high boots in black suede, white leather, light brown suede and dark brown leather.

A black felt floppy hat and messy braid round out the casual look – and also saved me from having to do my hair after a long weekend celebrating my husband’s Dirty Thirty. Shh, don’t tell!
