The tribal print trend is too cool. I love how bright and colorful everything is, and how fun the patterns are.
I fell in love with this tribal print skirt at Forever 21. The pattern is pretty, the colors are happy and the sheer number and diversity of colors means I can match it with so many solid colored tops and accessories. Awesome.
Here’s how I transitioned this skirt from the office to happy hour!
First off, the office. I paired the tribal skirt with a plain white long-sleeved v-neck from Target Style. These long-sleeved shirts are soooo soft, and while they cost more than ones at Forever 21 or H&M, they are better quality. My classic Tiffany’s heart necklace adds to the demure vibe.
Next, I set out to funk it up a bit, and emphasize the warm colors in the skirt with these warm chestnut brown ankle booties from Payless Shoesource. I love how ankle booties let your legs breathe, but look more covered-up than flats or sandals. Go figure!
Transitioning to happy hour is easy peasy. I switched out the white top for a black short-sleeved crop top from Forever 21. Because this skirt is high-waisted, I can show just a bit of midriff for a sexy yet subtle vibe. I kept the Tiffany’s necklace.
For footwear, I went for these super-comfy brown wedges from Target Style. Yes, I know, I’m wearing a black top. But that’s the beauty of all the warm, rich reds and oranges in this skirt – it goes equally well with black and brown!
And then I was ready to hit the town. How would you transition this skirt from work to play? Would you add tights? Knee-high boots? A blazer? Let me know in the comments!
