OOTD: Tribal Romper

I instantly fell in love with this tribal-print romper at Forever 21. The print is just so colorful, bright and fun. It is completely unapologetic for making a bold statement! Not to mention that the print and colors are super trendy right now.

I also have a special place in my heart for rompers. They are so so so inconvenient but also so adorable. I like this one because it has a deep v and a little snap – it doesn’t even entirely close in the front if you don’t want it to. Instead of using the snap button thingy, I safety pin the front of the romper closed where I want it (aka, to show a bit of cleavage). So basically you can make this romper sporty or sexy great options!

I paired the romper with dark brown ankle booties from Payless. I love how the warm chocolatey brown of the boots complements the colors in the romper. I also love the proportions. Because the shorts part of the romper are short, I wanted my shoes to be a little more covered (no sandals). But knee-high boots would be pretty trashy. So ankle boots are a great compromise here.

This is a great way to dress for play – brunch, errands, shopping, anything. For work, I added this amazing mustard yellow blazer from H&M. I bought this blazer a few years ago, when mustard was super trendy, and it’s been tucked away in my closet the past few years. Now, you can walk into any fast-fashion store and find a mustard blazer just like it!

The yellow really brings out the colors in the romper, and the casual boyfriend fit (read: a bit oversize) is a good contrast to the short cleavagey romper.
