OOTD: Tribal Shorts

I’m really digging this new tribal-print trend for spring 2015. At all the stores you see bright colors, dusty shades, tribal-inspired prints and items with safari animals on them. This trend is so fun and playful!

It’s also easy to work in a tribal-inspired piece to your everyday outfits, to rock the trend without going overboard.

I love these shorts from Forever 21. They are in the colors of the season and”tribal-print-inspired. They’re also a bit oversize/flowy, to the point where the shorts look like a skirt, which is another trend for spring (no tight-fitting clothes on the racks right now).

To bring out the dark colors in the shorts and make this outfit suitable for everyday, I paired the shorts with a black long-sleeved v-neck shirt from Target Style. These v-necks are the best – a bit pricier than what you’d find at Forever 21 or H&M, but are incredibly good quality and are figure-flattering.

Paired with black sandals or flats, or maybe even black ankle booties, this outfit would be acceptable for casual offices. For a night out on the town, I added my favorite black suede wedges from Payless and the classic Tiffany’s heart necklace.

These shorts are also perfect for spring days at the beach or spring nights out on the town! For a more casual-yet-sexy vibe, I paired the shorts with a black short-sleeve crop top from Forever 21. Next came black studded sandals, also from Forever 21, and the same Tiffany’s necklace to dress it up a tad.

But you don’t just have to go with black! The many colors in these shorts lend themselves well to pairing with other solid-colored tops. It’s too cool when you can make flowy shorts work for day and night – you get several different outfits in one!
