I haven’t owned a pair of floral or patterned shoes since I was in high school. I prefer solid-colored shoes, even if they have fun accents like tassels, fringe, gladiator ties, etc. But when I came across these beautiful floral canvas wedges at Payless, I knew I just had to buy them and figure out a way to create outfits around them. They were too cute to pass up!

These wedges are perfect for spring and summer. The floral print is both seasonal and feminine. They can jazz up any outfit, and make any casual outfit instantly more fancy and dressed-up.

I decided to create a pretty summer day outfit around the wedges. I started with this salmon pencil skirt from Forever 21. I liked the way the mauve/pink color emphasized the pink tones in the shoes.

Next, I added a short-sleeve white ribbed crop top, also from Forever 21. As readers of my blog will be well aware, my favorite outfit combination is a crop top and high-waisted skirt! I’m a fan of this crop top style because the cut is a little more covered up/conservative than other crop tops.

Next, for accessories. Because the items are warm and summery, I opted for sunshiney gold jewelry. This giraffe necklace is from J. Crew, and my gold ring is from Forever 21.
