I’m not a believer in silly fashion rules like “you can’t wear white after Labor Day” or “your bag and your shoes have to match”. Life is too short, and fashion’s opportunities too endless, to restrict yourself like that.
I wear white year-round. Living in LA, this is pretty easy to do. In other parts of the world you might blend in with snow, which would be unfortunate. But here in LA, white is still crisp and appropriate in all months of the year.
This white miniskirt is from Express. I have owned this skirt for so many years and worn it so many times that it’s getting pretty thin. I will wear it till it dies, though, because it fits amazingly and goes with everything.
To emphasize the crisp white skirt, I chose this green and white floral blouse from H&M. I LOVE these blouses. I literally have it in every single print, except the ones that kind of look like nursing scrubs…this shirt is perfect for a young urban professional. It is conservatively buttoned up and a good length, but it’s also tailored to show that you have a figure. I’m obsessed! I tucked it into the skirt for an even more put-together look.
Nude canvas wedges from Target Style keep the focus on clean neutral colors. I know I’ll only be able to get away with wearing these wedges for a few more weeks though – they’re definitely more appropriate for spring and summer.
For jewelry, I went gold. This giraffe necklace is from J. Crew and the gold cuff ring is from Gorjana.
Do you wear white in the wintertime? How do you pull it off? Let me know in the comments!
