Rich jewel tones, faux fur – these things just scream”bourgeois” to me, better known as”bougie”. Sometimes it’s fun, as a middle-class twenty-something in casual Los Angeles, to dress as “bougie” as possible.
Here’s an outfit I love for fun entertainment industry parties. This maroon mesh dress is from H&M. The rich maroon tone is perfect for nighttime, and the length is appropriate for work. The mesh at the top and sides, though, makes it more fun and casual. So I would wear this to an industry event but not a conservative one for sure.
My beige faux fur vest is from Cotton On. I bought this vest last season and I have been wearing it to death since. It was a great investment piece, as it makes any outfit more funky (and keeps you much warmer).
The brown suede ankle booties are from Fashion Rush Clothing. Although they are stilettos, these boots are very comfortable and easy to walk in, making them a good choice for events when you’ll be on your feet.
Because the dress and vest are so bold, I didn’t need any jewelry or accessories. All I have is my everyday Tiffany’s double band T&Co. 1837 ring.
