OOTN: Hot Weather Leather

I love wearing (fake) leather. Leather miniskirts, leather pencil skirts, leather leggings, leather pants, leather jackets, bring it on. That being said, leather is definitely not a fabric designed to keep you cool, nor is it entirely appropriate for summer.

Now that fall is on its way (yay) I’m ready to bring pleather back into my wardrobe. It’s still hot outside, though, and no one wants to be sweating into polyurethane.

That’s why this maroon and black pleather miniskirt from Forever 21 is ideal for this transition time between summer and fall. The short length means you won’t be overheating. The maroon color makes it far less serious and “leather” than solid black. And the drawstring is fun and somewhat evokes summer.

Because this skirt is super short, I opted to be a little more covered up on top with this black long-sleeved crop top from Forever 21.

Nothing goes with leather like a good ole pair of boots, so I added my favorite black moto ankle booties from Payless.

I kept jewelry simple, with a Tiffany’s necklace and double-band ring, and a silver criss-cross ring from Wanderlust + Co.
