Black at night is so expected – why not mix it up and choose another dark color instead?
I instantly fell in love with this olive green dress from Charlotte Russe. I’m not a huge green fan in general, but I’ve been trying to mix more olive green into my wardrobe, as it goes great with neutrals like beige, gray and black.
This dress is the best, because it’s both sexy and covered-up at the same time. The dress is long, making it appropriate for a family event or a work party. It has a high neck, showing no cleavage. But it also has a sexy little wrap in the front, and some figure-flattering ruching. Basically I feel like a Greek goddess in this dress.
Nothing goes with olive green quite like gold does (and it also plays up the whole Greek goddess thing). This three-layer gold necklace is from Charlotte Russe – but I did some editing. I loved the three charms currently on the necklace, but it came with a fourth – this chain hanging down from the bottom layer. I found it tacky, so I recruited my mom and some pliers to remove it! Now it’s way more elegant – perfect for this pretty dress.
I also added in my favorite gold “B” monogram necklace from Ettika.
I wanted to keep the focus on the dress and necklace, so I kept footwear simple with these plain black suede ankle booties from Payless Shoesource.
