I really want to travel to South Beach, Florida. There are many reasons. The white sand, never having been to the east coast, the party scene, the Cuban food. But the main reason is definitely so that I can wear outrageously bright and bold colors and mix them with white. This style has screamed Miami/South Beach since the beginning of time. It’s been a trend that has stuck around for good reason – it’s clean and fresh and summery and generally happy.
To recreate this look, I started with this strappy striped crop top, a gift from my friend. I love how the crop top is sheer, but also comes with a solid “bra” liner to cover your bra and not reveal too much.
This white high-waisted pencil skirt is from H&M. I love the tight fit. It’s a professional style but the tight fit makes it more appropriate for a night out on the town than work.
The proportions of this outfit are great – although the shirt is a crop top, it’s long enough (and the pencil skirt high enough) to overlap, so no skin is shown. I would wear this for a very very casual work party.
In keeping with the bold + light theme of this outfit, I paired the blouse and skirt with these nude canvas wedges from The gold zipper on these shoes, as well as the warm colors on the shirt, make me think that gold is the perfect metal for jewelry. This gold giraffe necklace is from J. Crew.
