OOTN: White Lace Skirt

Often when I go shopping, I try to go with a specific goal in mind. Whether I’m looking for a piece from a new trend I like, an outfit for a specific event or a certain style, it helps to go shopping knowing what you’re looking for. Otherwise the experience can be totally overwhelming!

But sometimes, opening items, sale racks and shiny things catch your eye, and these items can end up being your new favorites!

This beautiful off-white/cream lace skirt is one such spontaneous item. I was shopping at Forever 21 for a date-night dress and knew what I wanted – a plain, long-sleeved black dress that I could wear on a date, to work functions or out with the girls. Spoiler alert: I ended up finding the PERFECT ONE (blog post on it to come soon). But while I was on the prowl for this LBD, I came across this skirt, in a season opening sale.

I like this skirt because it is so fun while also simultaneously being elegant and classy. The lace isn’t sheer (it’s lined), so you get all the seductiveness of lace without being skanky. The fit is nice and shows off one’s hips and legs. And you can’t beat the low price of skirts at Forever 21!

I decided to go super wintery and pair the skirt with a plain long-sleeved black v-neck from Target. Target makes THE BEST basic long-sleeved t-shirts around. They are only $12 but are often on sale for $7 and come in wintery colors and prints (I have maroon, black, white, pink and white-and-blue striped). They fit so well – but FYI the sizes run large so I’m an XS here (and nowhere else lol).

To bring out the black of the top, and transition the outfit to nighttime, I added my favorite black suede wedges to the mix. These heels, from Payless, are so incredibly comfortable and are sexy to boot. Last but not least, I put on my classic heart necklace from Tiffany’s. And voila! A classy, yet sexy, OOTN.
