When Sunday Funday brunching on the West Side, Eveleigh is my go-to.
This quaint farm-to-table restaurant, housed in a building built in 1923 as the residence on an orchard, just embodies the sights, sounds and flavors of West LA.
All the meals at Eveleigh are amazing, but the real standout is their weekend brunch, served Saturdays and Sundays.
Browsing the menu, seated on the outdoor patio amidst reclaimed Southern-Chic benches and joyous puppies (including my own), surrounded by my friends, was an amazing experience.
Then I turned to the menu and stress ensued. With such delectable options as ricotta hot cakes, coconut cinnamon chia pudding and baked eggs, what was I supposed to decide upon???
I finally opted for the breakfast sandwich with egg whites, cheddar cheese, hash brown, arugula, tomato and chili mayo (and minus the bacon). I was in seventh heaven. Egg sandwiches are a safe, typical breakfast order, but the addition of a hashbrown and chili mayo made for a delightful burst of flavors and unexpected textures.
Our table was silent as we devoured our food and mimosas. But my stablemates haven’t been silent since – they are clamoring for a return to Eveleigh brunch!
