I’m always in the mood for delicious, authentic Mexican food. When a friend suggested we meet for dinner at SOL Mexican Cocina in Playa Vista, I was instantly down.

Located in the Runway shopping center, SOL has a nice inside dining room and an outside fire pit.

Not only was the atmosphere nice for dinner with friends, a family gathering or a romantic date, but the food was delicious and vegetarian-friendly.

The corn, poblano and mushroom taco plate comes with garlic and epazote on corn tortillas and quest fresco, and a side of rice and beans. Choosing just two tacos was so hard – vegetarians can also opt for sweet potato and black bean tacos or spice-roasted butternut squash tacos.

I’m not much of a margarita person, but the pineapple serrano margarita (minus the serrano chile for this wimp) was amazing.
